P&L by group and by account
The P&L page answers "what did copying make" separately from "what did this account make".
For Today, 7D, 30D or 90D it shows each group's leader and followers with realised, unrealised and total P&L, trade count and win rate, and realised P&L by day. Each account is split by where its P&L came from: a copy group, or its own manual trades — trades placed directly in a follower, or before it joined a group, are reported as manual and never folded into the copy's numbers. On the Account Dashboard, demo and real money are not added together unless you include demo accounts.

The Trade Journal
The journal is built automatically from every fill, leader and followers. It shows:
| Metric | How it is worked out |
|---|---|
| Win rate | Winning closed trades ÷ closed trades |
| Profit factor | Gross profit on winners ÷ gross loss on losers |
| Expectancy | Net P&L ÷ closed trades — the average result per trade |
| Max drawdown | The largest fall of the equity curve from a peak |
Plus average win and loss, best and worst trade, average holding time, the equity curve, a P&L calendar and breakdowns by underlying, entry hour and your own tags. Click any trade to add notes, tags, a rating and your mood. Ranges: Today, 7D, 30D, 90D and All.

Copy Analytics: what copying cost
Copy Analytics measures the copier rather than the strategy, for Today, 7D or 30D:
- Copy success — copies, failures, and entries skipped by your rules.
- Latency — median (p50) and p95 from leader order to follower order, with the distribution.
- Slippage vs leader — in rupees, per follower and in total, plus the average per unit. A positive number is a cost to followers. Mapped contracts are left out, since a SENSEX fill cannot be compared with a NIFTY price.
- A per-follower table and a breakdown of why orders were skipped.
A worked example
Hypothetical slippage. The leader buys 1 lot of 75 units at ₹102.40. A ×2 follower fills 150 units at ₹102.90. Slippage = (102.90 − 102.40) × 150 = ₹75, a cost to the follower. On the exit the leader sells at ₹118.00 and the follower at ₹117.80: another 0.20 × 150 = ₹30. Round-trip, copying cost that follower ₹105 against the leader.
Journal arithmetic, also hypothetical: 10 closed trades, 6 winners totalling ₹18,000 and 4 losers totalling ₹9,000. Profit factor = 18,000 ÷ 9,000 = 2.0; expectancy = (18,000 − 9,000) ÷ 10 = ₹900 a trade. A profit factor above 1 with a small sample says little; ten trades is anecdote, not evidence.
Alerts on WhatsApp and email
Trade Copy sends alerts through the FNOTrader Notification Center, the same place as your Options and Trade alerts. You choose which events reach you: copy failures and connection problems; risk locks, flattens and the timed square-off; copy confirmations, one message per leader order; and whether to include skipped followers. To keep a busy day readable, messages are capped at 40 an hour and the same message within 5 minutes is dropped. Send test checks the setup.
Reading the numbers honestly
- Slippage is not only latency. A wider Market Protect buffer allows a worse price; see order controls.
- Manual trades distort a follower's total. Compare the group line, not the account total, when judging the copy.
- Short ranges mislead. A good week says little about a strategy.
Where to find it
- P&L, Trade Journal and Copy Analytics are under Performance in the Trade Copy menu; pick a range at the top.
- Alerts is under Control; choose events there and channels in the Notification Center.
Common questions
Can I see what copying made separately from manual trades in the same account?
Yes. The P&L page splits each account by copy group and by its own manual trades.
How is slippage measured in Copy Analytics?
In rupees, as the difference between each follower's fill and the leader's fill times the quantity. Positive means a cost to the follower.
What does profit factor mean in the Trade Journal?
Gross profit on winning trades divided by gross loss on losing ones. Above 1 means winners outweighed losers in that range.
Why did I stop getting Trade Copy alerts on a busy day?
Alerts are capped at 40 an hour, and an identical message within 5 minutes is dropped.
Do I have to log trades in the journal myself?
No. Every fill in the leader and the followers is journaled automatically. You only add notes, tags, a rating or your mood if you want them.
